Boca Chica Fishing Tournament
The first annual Boca Chica Fishing Tournament, benefiting
the Boca Chica School, was held in June 2007 with inshore and offshore
fishing, reasonable entry fees and useful prizes. The prize purse was worth
over $6,000.
The David business community and the David Rotary Club gave their support to
this tournament. Grand prizes included: 15hp Yamaha outboard engine and a
Yamaha portable generator. Other prizes included: GPS, VHF radios, life
jackets, sunglasses..... Fifty three fishermen participated and fun was had
by all. The School received $900.00. A great start, we learned a
lot, and expect next year to be even bigger and better!!
The second annual fishing tournament is being scheduled, anticipated date
in April or May 2008. More details to follow soon.
